Is there someone that can check what the problem can be, so i can get the advance corrected ???.

this is a q about the subaru trigger, were i have dwonloaded the config from one subaru to another, and the ign advance is off.

This is taking from the best and very helpfull VEMS FORUM.

I was out mapping the car last night, and the advance is indeed of, as it i strobed it at 10degrees, so this is right, if i write 40 degrees in the field the this will be 10degrees thatĀ“s fixed + half of the rest, that is 40degrees- 10degrees = 30 degrees, then half of that =15degrees+the 10 fixed , so this will be 25degrees advance in total,

ItĀ“s a bit of trooble to map, and i can only get 37.5degrees , as the max that can be written is 63degrees.

ItĀ“s not working on the other Subaru , the advance is off.

So Subaru trigger setup , is NOT working

I also would like to know as there is trigger errors when cranking, and the wiring is okay, and i cant seem to find any info, regardng the "advanced filtering" settings, if that maybe can help filtering that out, that car will sometimes backfire when cranking,and can the "crank minimum usec" have anything to do with that, what will it do if the number is upped, or number lowered?

There seems to be an error in the firmware,when running the subaru trigger, with 1.0.73 firmware,

we were having some trooble with getting the trigger working right,

we then uploaded the config again, and measured both the input and output with a scop, and the ignition was working right,and the turned on the fuelpump EC36-Pin15 p259CH5, and as soon this was done, bith the trigger input and the output, was all wrong, with random ignition firing.

It did not go right again, if the pump was turned of, so have to upload the config again, we then moved the fuelpump output to EC36- PIN 18 inj5, and it started right away.


D19/4-2008 I have tried the logiclevel outputs, and itĀ“s cant drive the Subaru ignitor, so i have a friend, that will make this for me tommorrow , to try, if no other suggestions,

I know i can use the stepper output, but as this setup also is going to be used on the Impreza my99-00, were the stepper output is needed to drive the stepper, this will not be used,.

If the input of the coil pulls down (likely), this could work.

Isn't it easier to use an external SN754410NE (stepper) chip ? Only 1 component instead of 4x3.

D.20/4-2008.we tried to make this work today, but when it was all mounted, and not working, we measured , that there is no output signal comming from the 74HC259 chip, and the supply power is working,

the car have copĀ“s, and a external ignitor, but how to i run this setup,

Do i run this as duel setup ,and wastedspark, or du You think it can be run fully sequentiel (need a spelling course).
