Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 TwinSpark 1997

ENGINE:

- 2.0 16V CF2 AR32301 type:DOHC

- crank signal 60-2 VR sensor (primary trigger)

- cam signal Hall sensor (secondary trigger)

- variable cam phases controlled by ON/OFF type solenoid

- 4 sequential COP wasted spark (high current)

- wossner forged pistons K9143D050 83.50mm

- custom made forged 4340 EN24 H-Beam rods with ARP2000 Bolts

- compression ratio 8,5 : 1

- cylinder head gasket Spesso Racing 1.8mm 21149/2218

- engine was disassembled to the first parts

- cylinder head and engine block were planed, valves and sockets were polished

- engine was honed for new pistons

- camshafts stays original

- original crank was balanced and polished

- engine block was painted, most of the parts were powder coated

- engine was assembled with new original gaskets, o rings, bearings etc.

- we replaced orginal alfa 156 plastic head cover with earlier

Alfa 2.0 Twinspark aluminium one

INTAKE SYSTEM:

- original plastic intake manifold was replaced with aluminum one from earlier Alfa 2.0 TwinSpark engines

- turbo ->FMIC 2,5" SS

- IC -> throttle body 3" Aluminum

- FMIC 550 x 140 x 65 mm

- silicone pipe connectors and reductors

- BLITZ Super Sound BOV

- custom made air box

EXHAUST SYSTEM:

- exhaust manifold SS 321 made by BTB Exhaust uk

- turbo TD05-18G with integrated wastegate about 350KM at 1 bar

- downpipe made by BTB Exhaust uk

- Ragazzon Stainless Steel Centre Pipe Group N 2,5” 55.0001.10

- SuperSprint rear silencer

- EGT sensor connected to VEMS

- Innovate Motorsport Bosch LSU4.2 5-wire, wide-band O2 sensor connected to VEMS

INJECTION SYSTEM:

- in tank fuel pump Walbro 255

- fuel injectors Lucas 460cc/3 bar high impedance

- fuel rail from earlier Alfa 2.0 TwinSpark engine with weber 3 bar fuel pressure reulator

ELEKTRONICS:

- boost pressure guage, oil temp guage, oil pressure guage by AutoGauge Smoke

- VEMS Assembled v3.6 controller:

- secondary_trigger HALL

- PS2 connection yes

- primary_trigger EC36/27 VR

- MAP connection 300 kPa simplenipple

- ignition driver 6+2

- Knock input channels 1

- LCD connection yes

- Flyback 30V flyback

- EGT input 1

- custom made harness

- k type thermocouple nad bosch LSU4.2 wide band sensor connected to VEMS

-mac 3 way boost solenoid connected to VEMS

COOLING SYSTEM:

- Mocal oil cooler

- termostatic sandwich plate under the oil filter from Fiata Uno Turbo

- we left original cooling system

DRIVE SYSTEM:

- front wheels drive, 5 speed original gearbox

- 6 paddle cerametalic clutch with uprated pressure plate by CG motorsport uk

- balanced and lightened flywheel

- Motul Gear oil 300 75W90

- if this gearbox will not handle 350HP we will proppably use gearbox from Fiat Coupe 20V turbo, but if it will do the job than we will think about Quaife Helical LSD

SUSPENSION:

- original suspension is good enough so we decided for Monroe Reflex dampers with new Alfa Springs

- whole suspension was rebuild with new parts

- fron upper strut brace custom made by ITAL Performance

BRAKING SYSTEM:

- big Brembo 4-piston monoblock calipers from Jaguar S type R (new one!! bought in uk for 250 pounds) with brembo braking pads

- custom made brackets CNC mill

- brembo 320x32 brake discs

- braided brake hoses

- braking fluid Motul RBF660

WHEELS:

- original Alfa 17'' SpeedLine wheels

OTHER MODIFICATIONS:

- custom made oil catch tank by ITAL Performance

- boost pressure, oil pressure and oil temp gauges were built in to the middle cocpit panel

- most parts from engine bay and suspension were sandblasted and powder coated

- chasis was sandblasted, rust was removed and than it was painted

- after we removed engine from the car we cleaned engine bay from the rust. rotten parts were replaced with new one and than whole body were painted

PERFORMANCE:

Before;

- 114 kW (155 PS (153 hp)) @6400 rpm

187 N•m (138 lb•ft) @3500 rpm

- acceleration- 0-100 km/h 8,6 s.

- max speed- 216 km/h

After;

- it’s not tuned yet but we are expecting 300+HP and about 400 NM

- we will update this as soon as we will make dyno tests :D
