RetrieveDiagnosticData
This UseCase describs the process of getting information useful for diagnosing technical problems from the ECU.
The UseCase starts when a Driver is asked by a Tuner or Installer to download diagnostic data to help fix a problem.
The Driver connects the computer and starts the software. They select download diagnostics from the utilities menu.
The software queries the ECU for the following information:
- Firmware version.
- Hardware serial number.
- Firmware config.
- Firmware tables.
The software also stores the following inforation:
- Operating system type and version.
- Serial port type and speed.
- Software toolkit version.
- Software error log.
This information is saved into a text file that can be manually sent to the Tuner or Installer for analysis.
