Note: if ECU also used for BMW M106 engine, separate page is needed for that, to avoid confusion.

Trigger negotiation, please measure and update here! Any trigger modification should be planned, and documented to avoid unnecessary project delays

"If it does not fit, please let me know. "

Measure for each (trigger) sensor: if you find 2 pins that measure same resistance in both directions (typically between 300..1400 Ohm), that is VR sensor. Otherwise HALL (or optical, but HALL input needed for that too, "eg.: very high frequency low capacitance value sectrig HALL is used for nissan-trigger).

  • "to measure is to know" (works even if there are several similarly named models out there).
  • Please write your measurement results here.

The HALL, auditrigger trigger combination as ordered is almost certainly not good, virtually nonexistant factory combination: HALL, VR

ECU VEMS V3 (as ordered, trigger might NOT be OK)

primary trigger: Stock 60-2 crank trigger wheel, but most likely VR (not HALL).

The trigger setup must be planned now, much easier now, than to modify ECU later.

Bmw m106 (is BMW M30B34MAE) engine and m30b35 engine are quite similar mechanically. I was unable to find any trigger information from the M106 it was used only in very old (1982-1986 E23 745i ) 7-Series body;

For the m30b35 however (delivered in many bodies but most notably the 1987-1992 E34 535.

[wiring diagram]

Page #97 seems to suggest this engine needs a primary = VR / secondary = VR ecu.

Other than trigger side, there are no uncertainties in his order (so good).

I would ask him to confirm if the trigger on his engine is indeed the OEM VR/VR as wiring diagram suggests or if he has retrofitted some HALL/HALL other option (in that case HALL/HALL might be fine).
