It originally has a 2.3L 10v N/A engine in it but I'm building a turbo converted 2.3L 20v to put in it and a GenBoard v3.3 to run fuel injection, boost control and distributorless ignition. I'm doing this partly as a school project, by myself. My biggest "role model" for this project is Javad Shadzi and his car, http://www.80tq.com/20vtMotor.html ---- ---- == Questions == '''Q''': I'm following MembersPage/PhatBob/UserGuide and I've connected and powered up the board to the computer. I can connect and "Man" the board in Terminal and in the mini-terminal in MegaTune, but when I try to test the connection through Communication Settings it says "No Response!". The settings are as in the userguide. * did you say "bye" in TerminalProgram (or terminal window) before trying megaTune ? (or reboot: after powerup, default is binary megatune communication mode). - Yes I've tried both, still nothing. * MegaTune, firmware version ? - VemsMT1.0.30rc3.zip, firmware version of Board I don't know, haven't done anything except hooking up serial, keyboard and LCD since I got it. serial number 303, mid summer 2005 * MegaTune is not picky on the install location This is weird since I can communicate through the terminal in megatune but not the regular connection. => if you can communicate through the terminal commands (either TerminalProgram or MegaTune), it's certainly in "Man" mode in which you will NOT be able to connect for normal MegaTune logging / tuning. Try "bye" (again), maybe you need to close the terminal window, etc.. I've tried all I can think of. The keyboard/lcd works and I can work the menus in terminal but I can't get a binary connection in either MegaTune or MegaTunix. What do you think about firmware incompatibility? could that be a reason for this? Possible. * how do I find out which firmware I have? ** mdv and mdV commands '''Update''': The commands gave me this:
2005. júl. 5., kedd, 21.13.00 CEST<0>1.0.13<0>
What should I do next? Update firmware? Try another serial cable? Another computer? '''Q''': Are the FET and IGBT places on the board assigned to a certain output already or can I solder them wherever and then assign which one is which? i.e Injector01 for cylinder #1 for the sake of keeping it simple. '''Q''': When I ordered last year I got this info: ''If using VR on primary trigger, please check R181 = 100k (0805 size SMD)resistor at LM1815 pin7. (min 47k, max 180k; 100k recommended: you can find it in rescue kit marked as 104 ).'' Is it the two pads right next to pins 6 & 7 of LM1815M? And can you mount the resistor there even if using HALL as primary? Thanks! Optional: Add document to category: Wiki formatting: * is Bullet list ** Bullet list subentry ...
