The Rover V8 has a fairly simple EFI harness that maps readily to the VEMS ECU. There were two ECUs used on the hotwire systems, the 14CU and the 14CUX, each with slightly different pin-out. We've got the 14CUX to play with here.

There are spare inputs that are probably not used on this car. Things like road speed input (map to 2nd VR input) etc.

It seems that TRW/Lucas can't be bothered to answer their email. So, we'll do it properly and use Econoseal connectors and make a new loom. The new loom is to be constructed from MIL-22759/16 Tefzel wire, with MIL-27500 sheilded single conductor Tefzel for the trigger wire. 150*C Tefzel cable ties will be used too. We'll use a pullable circuit breaker in place of the main fuse. We're basically going with aircraft stuff here.
