Hi,

My projectcar is a 205 GTI with a 1.9 litre 8 valve engine. I turbocharged it some time ago and am now fully rebuilding/upgrading the engine to suit high boost. Have a look at my project webpage http://www.205turbo.nl

I;m looking into VEMS because I think it more advanced than the megasquirt i'm running now.

specs in a nutshell:

alloy 1905 CC wetliner engine

16 valve cyl head

Mitsu td05 16g turbo

Ok, got the vems all wired up. Everything seems to respond ok. Put in the 023 with megatune firmware version. (And used Dave Bruls' config files with small modifications.) And also megatune seems to work fine.

Will try to start the car one of these days.

Ok things are getting along quite nicely.

The engine turns.

I get an RPM sgignal

There is fuel coming out of the injectors

but still no spark. will have to look deeper into that. Running wasted spark. (bosch coil) there is +12v on the ignition drivers (00 and 01) but it seems they do nog get switched.

put the folowing line in tables.txt

h[2]=00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00

these are in the config.txt:

ignchmax=01

filled the ignition table

set the ignition settings as follows:

ignition outputs: 01..00

ignition driver type: DUMMY

ivert driver output Disabled

chargetime @ 14v 3.46

chargetime add @ 6v 4.18

set the trigger seetings as follows:

edge: rising

type: multitooth

Filtering: disabled

TDC after the trigger (deg): 62.0

number of teeth on wheel: 58

trigger tooth: 8

next trigger tooth: 30

Cranck min.period: 1280

angular with of tooth: 6

angular with of missing tooth: 18.

But I assume that to be quite ok because the RPM shows up (or is that a wrong conclusion)

set crancking advance to 20.00 degrees

Problem is there is no spark at all.

Checked the +12v to the coil (and up to the vems) and seems ok.

Anny suggestions to where to start trouble shooting would be welcome.

Small update: just used some leds to check if the igbt's get switched. but they don't...

Thanks to Daves' input the spark works. It was the secondary trigger that needed to be set to 02
