About Me
---- I'm a software engineer for Motorola, based in Florida. I've fiddled with software for many years, but only in the past 2 years have I tackled serious development. My current work is on a wireless network product, mostly on a custom PPC Linux board. Now that I'm doing development full time, I've taken a renewed interest in the VEMS project. I look at this as a way to flex my coding muscles and learn something in the process (no formal education in computer science). Projects ---- Started out with a Megasquirt 1.0 board on my 1983 Volvo 242 Turbo. That project is still ongoing. MembersPage/MackHooper/ProjectVolvo Later joined the Genboard v2.2 group buy and assembled a board, but never got it working. I intend to use this board just to learn the ins and outs of working with the AVR, aiming to use it for small projects where a microcontroller would come in handy. MembersPage/MackHooper/Genboard Latest project is my 96 Audi A4 12v. The 12V 2.8 V6 is a stout, torquey motor, but the Hitachi ECU prevents upgrades. The plan is to move to the VEMS v3.3 board, getting rid of the MAF to help the engine breathe. (stock MAF is the biggest restriction in the intake, at this point) MembersPage/MackHooper/ProjectAudi |
